Summary of Rural Advisory Services conference held in Bishkek last week:
On November 17 -21,development partners and government representatives from Tajikistan participated in the “Regional Conference on Rural Advisory Services (RAS) in Central Asia and South Caucasus” in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.  The Global Forum on Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) hosted the conference where over one hundred participants from government representatives, local practitioners, international organizations and donors from around the region shared best practices, challenges and lessons learned from providing rural advisory services. Topics included presentations on the latest trends in RAS around the world as well as the current status of RAS in the countries from the region. Tajikistan was well represented at the conference, including a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture, National Association of Dehkan Farms and various agricultural development projects providing RAS.
