Introduction

An UNDAC mission lead by Mr. Vladimir Sakharov has been agreed to take place on 11 - 27 March 2006.

The Government of Tajikistan and United Nations in Tajikistan have been working together to strengthen the national Disaster Management system in the country. With support from a UN project ("UN Disaster Risk Management Project"), the Government has successfully initialized a number of measures to strengthen the disaster risk management system in the country. In order to consolidate these new initiatives and strengthen the nation's capacity of disaster management, the United Nations Resident Coordinator is inviting an evaluation mission from United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team at the request of the Tajik Ministry of Emergency Situations.
